The Centennial Clock -

The North Baltimore Rotary Club has chosen to provide the Village of North Baltimore a Street Clock at the corner of North Main Street and East Broadway.  The North Baltimore community has been without a clock in the downtown area for many years and plans by various other groups to provide this need have met with pitfalls and have not been realized.  Considerations in selecting the project included the fulfillment of a community need and in providing a permanent icon in celebration of 100 years of Rotary worldwide and nearly seventy years in North Baltimore.  The clock selected is reflective of the styles of the time when the original Rotary was founded while employing the technological advances available today.  The clock has been completed and delivered to the Village of North Baltimore.  Completion of this project was realized just prior to Memorial Day 2005.  Special thanks to several community members who assisted with the final preparations and installation of the clock. Aaron Patterson, Robert Hartigan, Robert Loe, Josh Long and Matt Swartz, all non-Rotarians, assisted our club in providing skills and labor in making the project a reality.  The dedication ceremony for the clock is scheduled for June 7th at 12:00 PM.

The Scout House -

Complete funding for a face-lift at the Scout House has been approved and will begin in September 2004.  Planned improvements include repainting the interior and exterior, and installing vinyl siding in the gables.  New entrance doors, soffet and fascia will be installed following the painting project. Attic insulation has been added and was completed in mid-November.  Improvements will be completed jointly between the efforts of Troop 315 scouts and Rotarians and will provide a fresh look and added security and comfort for the structure

The scouts of Troop 315 are 90% completed with the painting project.  Only the floor and store rooms remain to receive a fresh new cost of paint.  Total completion of this project is anticipated in late Spring 2005.

Special thanks to MID-WOOD INC. for their generous and unexpected donation of 50% of the cost of the paint utilized by the scouts in painting the interior and exterior of the scout house.  Their generosity is sincerely appreciated!

The insulation of the Scout House is now complete having blown in about ninety bags of insulation.  The return air ducting is planned within the next few weeks.  The total project completion including the floor painting and facia will be delayed until warm weather returns in the Spring.
